3-DOOR GARAGE REMODEL
in Cape Porpoise, Maine
Originally built in the 1940s, this three-car garage overlooking the edge of Cape Porpoise Harbor was completely remodeled while preserving the character and craftsmanship of the existing structure. Exterior improvements included a new roof, updated trim, shingle siding, and all-new doors and windows, giving the building a refreshed coastal appearance that complements its harbor setting.
Inside, nickel gap walls with square-edge trim create a clean, timeless finish, while custom walnut cabinetry brings warmth and character to the new kitchen and built-in storage areas. Granite countertops complete the cabinetry and provide a polished contrast to the natural wood tones.
Overhead, the original roof framing remains exposed, celebrating the history of the 1940s structure and adding architectural interest throughout the space. New electrical wiring was thoughtfully enclosed in black-painted conduit to complement the exposed construction, while the existing overhead garage doors were updated with new powder-coated black hardware. The finished renovation combines original character with refined modern details to create a distinctive space overlooking Cape Porpoise Harbor.
