COASTAL COTTAGE REBUILD

in Kennebunkport, Maine

This coastal cottage was thoughtfully rebuilt after the original structure was washed away during the January 13, 2024 storm. Due to its close proximity to the ocean, the new cottage was constructed on the same location and footprint while being elevated five feet higher than the original structure to better accommodate its waterfront setting.

New piers were built to support the elevated structure, along with a pressure-treated deck that extends the cottage’s outdoor living space. Inside, the single-story design features vaulted ceilings that create an open and inviting atmosphere.

Wood flooring and paneled pine doors bring warmth and character throughout, while a combination of drywall, painted

nickel gap, and clear-coated pine nickel gap walls complement the cottage’s natural coastal surroundings. The finished home blends traditional craftsmanship with a clean, comfortable design while preserving the character of the original seaside cottage.
